Os irmãos gêmeos Bill e Tom Kaulitz fazem música juntos desde sua infância. Foram musicalmente estimulados pelo seu padrasto, Gordon Trümper, guitarrista de uma banda ativa em Magdeburg. Em uma apresentaçao em 2001, Magdeburg, feita com apenas uma guitarra, a voz e um simples teclado, os irmaos Kaulitz, Gustav Schäfer e Georg Listing, (os "G's" já sendo conhecidos da escola de música) se encontraram, fazendo com que nascesse aí a grande amizade e uma banda denominada "Devilish", assim continuando a apresentar-se pelos pequenos lugares de Magdeburg.Após a participaçao de Bill em 2001 no concurso infantil "Star Search", em 2003 a banda foi descoberta pelo produtor musical Peter Hoffmann. A Sony BMG finalmente fez um contrato com os garotos. Hoffmann chamou entao David Jost e Pat Benzner para a produçao e autoria, também fazendo com que os garotos tivessem aulas de música e canto, e no meio da 'bagunça' a banda resolveu mudar o nome para "Tokio Hotel". Antes do lançamento, a Sony desistiu do contrato. Em 2005 a Universal Music Group fez contrato com a banda e trabalhou em extensivos planos de marketing, para garantir o sucesso comercial da banda.O vídeo para seu primeiro single, Durch den Monsun (Através da monção), foi lançado em Julho de 2005 nos canais de música alemães, encantando assim, várias jovens fãs. O single chegou às lojas em 15 de Agosto e subiu direto ao 1º lugar dos sucessos da Alemanha e Áustria. Também, no fim de Setembro, foi lançado o álbum "Schrei" que também foi para o topo das paradas.Como uma das poucas bandas alemãs, Tokio Hotel também é conhecido em países de outras línguas.No Outono de 2006, o álbum foi lançado na França, alcançando o 19º lugar. Assim, Tokio Hotel é a primeira banda alemã que teve sucesso dirigindo-se direto ao Top 20. "Durch den Monsun" conseguiu o 8º lugar nas paradas e em Fevereiro de 2007 os integrantes da banda receberam o disco de ouro pelas vendas. Em Novembro de 2006 a banda fez seu primeiro concerto em Moscou, Rússia, para mais de mil pessoas. Em 2007 foram shows planejados para mais 7 países. No ano de 2007, Tokio Hotel conseguiu o 1º lugar do Airplaycharts de Israel com a canção Monsoon (versão em inglês de Durch den Monsun). Além disso, os fãs israelenses promovem uma petição para que a banda se apresente no país. Para isso seriam necessárias 5.000 assinaturas.


The twin brothers Bill and Tom together make music since them infancy. Musically they had been stimulated by its stepfather, Gordon Trümper, guitarist of an active band in Magdeburg. Hoffmann called then David Jost and Pat Benzner for the production and authorship, also making with that the boys had music lessons and sing, and in the way of “bagunça” the band decided to change the name for “Tokio Hotel”. Before the launching, Sony gave up the contract. In 2005 the Universal Music Group made contract with the band and worked in extensive plans of marketing, to guarantee the commercial success of the band.
The video for its first single, Durch den Monsun (Through the monsoon), was launched in July of 2005 in the canals of German music, thus enchanting, some young fans. Single arrived at the store in 15 of August and went up direct to 1º place of the successes of Germany and Austria. Also, in the end of September, the album “Schrei” was launched that also was for the top of the stops.
As one of the few German bands, Tokio Hotel also is known in countries of other languages.
So Tokio Hotel is the first German band who had success directing itself direct to Top 20. “Durch den Monsun” obtained 8º place in the stops and in February of 2007 the integrant ones of the band had received the record from gold for vendas.
In November of 2006 the band made its first concert in Moscow, Russia, for more than a thousand people. In 2007 they had been shows planned for more 7 countries.
In the year of 2007, Tokio Hotel obtained 1º place of the Airplaycharts of Israel with the Monsoon song (version in English of Durch den Monsun). Moreover, the Israeli fans promote a petition so that the band if presents in the country. For this would be necessary 5,000 signatures .
